Mumbai: Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) through its joint venture company L&T-MHPS Boilers Pvt Ltd (LMB) has bagged EPC contract worth Rs1,885 crore from NTPC Ltd for setting up of 2×660 MW supercritical steam generators for Tanda Thermal Power Plant Stage-II.
The contract for the project, located on the banks of the Tanda canal near Bahadurpur village in the Ambedkar Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, was won through competitive bidding involving several national and international players.
“We have the manufacturing and execution capabilities to deliver to stringent schedules while conforming to global standards. The order from NTPC affirms L&T’s credentials in EPC execution of power plant equipment,” states Shailendra Roy, Whole-time Director (Power, Minerals & Metals) L&T.
The scope of the work for the projects involves design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning and conducting performance guarantee of two coal-fired steam generator units with supercritical parameters.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 46 and 52 months for the respective units.
