For Phase 1 of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) project (Dankuni-Sonnagar), the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) has invited bids for appointing a legal consultant. Bids have been invited to appoint a legal consultant to develop a model concession agreement for PPP in construction, operation and maintenance of Dankuni-Gomoh Phase-I of Dankuni-Sonnagar section. The length of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor project is 1,835 km, which starts from Ludhiana in Punjab and will pass through the states of Harayana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and will terminate at Dankuni in West Bengal. The project is being developed in phases and the total cost of the project is Rs 19,486.20 crore. Sonenagar-Mughalsarai section which stretches 122 km is phase 1 A and phase I B involves Mughalsarai-Khurja section which stretches 710 km; and Phase-II involves Khurja-Ludhiana (Dandarikalan) section
