Adani Group is all set to expand the Dhamra Port’s capacity to 100 MT per annum which is located in Odisha’s Bhadrak district. According to Adani Group, work will soon start on expansion and orders have been already placed for the purpose. The company is trying to build the Dhamra Port on the scale of the Mundra Port. The company acquired the Dhamra Port from L&T and the Tatas by paying around Rs 5,500 crores. It now aims to augment the port’s capacity from 25 MT to 100 MT. Santosh K Mahapatra, CEO, Dhamara Port Company Limited (DPCL), said that DPCL had sought 700 acres of land for the expansion of the project which was sanctioned by the state Government. “Work on expanding the capacity will start soon,” he said. DPCL, the operator, had been awarded a concession by the Odisha government to build and operate the port on Dhamra river in Bhadrak district for 34 years, including four years for construction.
