Ahmedabad: India’s largest port developer, Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd today inked pact with France based CMA CGM Group to build up a new Container Terminal at Mundra Port, according to company statement.
“This new container terminal will be an absolutely world class facility that will stimulate the growth of cargo benefiting our customers as well as help accelerate the industrial development over the vast hinterlands that Mundra provides access to. This will make Mundra the largest container port in the country,” expresses Gautam Adani Chairman of the Adani Group.
This 650 m terminal along with 27 hectares of back area will be the fourth Container Terminal in Mundra. This world class terminal, with a capacity to handle 1.3 million TEUs per annum, will primarily have four Rail Mounted Quay Cranes (65 tonne) capable of handling 18,000 TEU vessels and Super Post and Ultra Large Container Vessels. Besides, the yard equipment will have twelve lift rubber tyred container gantry cranes (41 tonne).
Construction on the said project will commence immediately and is slated for completion in 24 months.
