Seven new projects approved for development of North Eastern Region

New Delhi: The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has approved seven  new projects worth Rs87.88 crore during current financial year 2014-15 (up to 30th June 2014).The projects, sanctioned under Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources(NLCPR) scheme, are in various sectors like road construction, irrigation scheme and renewing electric installations.

Around five projects have been approved in the road segment. These include construction of an approach road from Chokpot in South Garo Hills to Jetra (Rs1764.76 lakh), Construction of road from 52.0 km point of NH 154 – Katlicherra Grant of District Hailakandi to Veterbond – Dullavcherra NEC road of Dist Karimganj (Rs 1616.58 lakh), Construction of Nyodu Sibe Siru Road in West Siang District (Rs1949.98 lakh), Construction of road from Pakoti to Kamsha Village (Rs950.81 lakh) and Construction of road from Parsi-Parlo (Patuk ADC HQ (Rs500.52 lakh).

Besides, the government has approved Thengkhari Barhola Pathar Irrigation Scheme worth Rs410.32 lakh and Remodeling of Electrical Installation including System Improvement Works at Rhenock Bazar and adjoining areas in East Sikkim valued Rs1595 lakh.
