The Central Ministry of Power has formed a 14 member advisory group on distribution reforms. The Managing Director of Mahavitaran; Mr. Ajoy Mehta is appointed as one of the members of this advisory group.
A 1984 batch IAS officer, Mehta is associated with the power sector of Maharashtra from the time of its restructuring in 2005. He took over as the Managing Director of Mahagenco in 2005. Later in 2009, Mr. Mehta took over as the Managing Director of the Mahavitaran.
Mehta has been the key driving force in the initiation of many innovative projects in Mahavitaran. He has vigorously worked towards reducing the distribution losses, load shedding and improvement of distribution system. He implemented a lot of new technological advancement. Installation of IR/RF meters to solve the meter reading problems are among the initiatives taken by him for better consumer services.
