New Delhi: Wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy has been given a go-ahead by the power generation firm CLP India to begin manufacturing equipment for the latter’s project in Rajasthan.
“Suzlon today declared that it has received the Notice to Proceed (NTP) from CLP India for a 100.8 MW wind power project,” the company said in a declaration.
The notice to proceed was given to Suzlon after CLP India obtained the approval from the Rajasthan govt to commence work on the project.
The project, placed at Tejuva in Rajasthan, will consist of 48 units of Suzlon’s 2.1 MW wind turbines, the statement said.
As per to sources, the total value of the order is around Rs 750 cr & the equipment will be delivered to CLP India in the next 9-12 months.
“Upon completion, this project will boost CLP India’s wind power portfolio to close to 1,000 MW,” the statement included.
“With huge reserves of untapped (wind energy) potential that spells out a great opportunity for this sector to grow exponentially. It has been a key area of thrust for us over the past 4-5 years & we are committed to growing it over the next few years as well,” Rajiv Mishra, Managing Director, CLP India, said.
“This agreement is another milestone for our business in India. Through our extensive abilities across wind energy value chain & end-to-end solutions, we will assist CLP India in additional improving their wind energy effect in India,” Tulsi Tanti, Chairman, Suzlon Group, said.
Stocks of the company were trading at Rs 27.70, down 1.95 % on the BSE.
