NEW DELHI: R K Malhotra, who was heading Indian Oil Corporation’s research & development division as director, has been entrusted with additional charge as chairman of the company.
Malhotra, the senior-most director of the company has obtained charge as acting chairman after R S Butola’s retirement from the post last week.
This comes after the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh did not clear the appointment of B Ashok as the new chairman, even after vigilance approval.
Malhotra has more than 37 years of research experience in the downstream petroleum sector, leading research at the R&D Centre of Indian Oil Corporation in areas like lubricant technologies, refining technologies, bio-technology, alternative energy, gasification & nanotechnology.
He has 185 research papers to his credit & holds 34 patents (India & abroad).
