Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) is geared up to execute its 1600 MW super power thermal plant at Basundhara in Sundargarh district with a total cost of Rs 11,368.18 crore.
CMD AN Sahay said, MCL will also deal in power transmission for which two units have been set already.
The Nilachal Power Power Transmission Ltd will focus on the transmission while the Mahanadi Basin Power Ltd will concentrate on thermal power production.
In collaboration of Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) and the Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL), the company has also incorporated a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).
