MP meets electricity demand, supplies 20.94 crore unit

In order to meet state’s peak hour demand, the state of Madhya Pradesh has set a record by supplying 20.94 crore unit’s electricity in the state.

State Energy Minister Rajendra Shukla admired the employees for the achievement of meeting electricity demand in the state.

MD – Sanjay Kumar Shukla, MP Power Management Company said, due to the festive season, deficient rainfall and Rabi season, the demand for power in the state has been increased.

He further said, on 13th October last year power supplied unit was 14.71 crore units, whereas this year we have 20.94 crore unit.

On October 13, 2014, the peak hour demand was 7,047 MW, which rose to 9,634 MW on October 13 this year.

The demand has been raised up by 37%.

In order to meet the demand, so far we have supplied 42% more power, he concluded.
