Raje ensures cheaper houses for EWS

The Rajasthan government is all set to provide shelters to Economically weaker section in the state.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has launched a scheme under which Lower Income Groups (LIG) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) will get 20 percent homes.

The new scheme ‘Rajasthan Housing for All’ aims to provide 10 lakh houses by 2022. 85 percent of these houses will be distributed among LIG and EWS into four models.

Under the scheme, 10% of the land in government and private housing schemes would be reserved to build houses.

In township projects, the developers will have reserve 7% land, where in reverse the government will give relaxation in floor area ratio (FAR) to the private builders.

The Rajasthan housing board, will now reserve 50% land for LIG/EWS shelters, while The Jaipur Development Authority and UITs will reserve 25% for the same.
