Klein and Hoffman, K&H, a leading architectural restoration and structural engineering firm, has announced that Ronald J. Spellich, P.E. has joined the company as an Associate. Spellich will direct and coordinate projects for glass and curtain wall performance with architects, designers, commercial and residential building owners and managers, and contractors on a national basis.
Spellich has spent nearly 33 years in the glass/curtain wall industry. His extensive experience includes architectural glass, exterior curtain walls, window wall and window systems. This experience comprises glass fabrication processes such as cutting, drilling, polishing, washing, fritting, silk-screening, heat-treating, laminating, bending and insulating.
Among his many accomplishments, he managed implementation of a comprehensive quality management system for national glass fabrication facilities. His experience includes new and existing construction, forensic and litigation investigations. He has secured US Patents for GlasSelect™ with Oldcastle Glass.
“Ron’s significant glass and curtain wall experience will be highly valued in our structural engineering department and an asset to our clients due to his extensive knowledge in processes, analysis and investigations,” said Chief Executive Officer Jon Boyd, R.A., S.E. and P.E., of Klein and Hoffman.
Spellich received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1982. He obtained his certification as a Construction Document Technologist (CDT) from CSI in 1995. Ms. Spellich is a registered professional engineer in the State of Illinois.
As an engineer, his experience provides clients with a practical, yet proactive approach which was developed when working with companies such as Enclos, Harmon, Inryco, Oldcastle Glass, Pilkington, Schuco and TRACO.
